The CW Cancels ‘Legacies,’ ‘Dynasty’ & 5 More
It’s a sad news day for fans of the CW shows.
The network has canceled Charmed (after four seasons), Dynasty (after five seasons), In the Dark (after its fourth season, premiering on June 6), Legacies (after four seasons, marking an end to the Vampire Diaries francise), Roswell, New Mexico (after four seasons, also premiering on June 6), 4400 (after its first season), and Naomi (after its first season). This news comes after DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman were canceled, after Seasons 7 and 3, respectively, at the end of April. (News of both cancellations came via executive producers’ statements on social media.)
The CW has yet to announce if DC’s Stargirl (returning for a third season) will be renewed or canceled. The same is true of Tom Swift, the Nancy Drew spinoff that was introduced in Season 2; its first episode will air on Tuesday, May 31.
Meanwhile, the CW has renewed All American (for Season 5), All American: Homecoming (for Season 2), The Flash (for Season 9), Kung Fu (for Season 3), Nancy Drew (for Season 4), Riverdale (for Season 7), Superman & Lois (for Season 3), and Walker (for Season 3) for the 2022-2023 season. Alternative series Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Masters of Illusion, and World’s Funniest Animals will also all be back.
This news comes on the same day that CBS has announced multiple cancellations (including Magnum P.I. after four seasons), as well as NBC (including Mr. Mayor and Kenan after two).

Why would they renew Riverdale and not Legacies? Imma be crying for the next few days. Them canceling Legacies breaks me since with it ending, the entire tvdu will end with it. 13 years bro, 13. 🙁

Another vote for saving Legacies. I used to watch the Arrowverse because I liked it, but, it's become stale in my opinion. Legacies however could have kept going on at least one more season, and is way more watchable than most their other shows. I hope Netflix or Hulu picks it up.
That said, after this current arc, they may have to get a little creative in how they pitch it, not sure there's going to be a more powerful villain than 'Ken' possible.

Bummer! Finally just caught up with Legacies on Netflix. Kinda ridiculous to not give it a proper conclusion as the show is part of a 13 year continuity. Wouldn’t be shocked if Netflix or HBO Max picks up a final season.

It's a shame to see all these series cancelled but even worse is the fact some of them ended their final season with a cliffhanger. Come on CW, do the right thing and give these shows some closure, possibly with a mini-series or special two-hour TV movie.

CW strikes again with its cancellation madness. They cancelled a bunch of shows including 3 of my favorites: Batwoman, Naomi and The 4400. I was really looking forward to watching Season 2 of Naomi and The 4400 and Season 4 of Batwoman. I've read the CW is getting out of the super hero genre. Really? Why wasn't The Flash cancelled? Why did they pick up The Winchesters (a Supernatural prequel), Walker: Independence (a Walker prequel) and Gotham Knights (set in the Gotham City after Batman's death. Batman's accused killers (children of his enemies) will clear their names then become the saviors of Gotham City). The new shows are ridiculous. I'm not wasting my time watching this crap. I don't care what mickey mouse excuse CW has for canceling
Batwoman, Naomi and The 4400. Bottom line 2 of these show were led by Black females. The third featured strong Black women. All shows had multi racial casts, bi sexual and gay characters It smacks of racism, sexism and homophobia. Batwoman, Naomi and The 4400 deserve a spot on next years schedule. I hope other networks step up and add them to their programming.

legacies is watchable, but I think it is starting to get better with it becoming more normal for a supernatural series, gods I understand but fluffy talking toys and a santa seems a bit odd to me. Also why does the flash need 9 seasons? And riverdale is a weird series how did it go from a kid being shot to them having abilities, just don't understand how it got to that. Legacies should have been renwed over the flash and riverdale imo. Legacies was just starting to get better with the introduction of gods.

The cancellation madness continues. ABC cancelled Queens. Queens was one of the best new shows on tv. It featured intelligent, talented black and latina actresses/musicians. I am pissed because rarely you see women of color headlining a show. Whenever it happens, the show rarely lasts long. I'm sick of short sighted tv executives. All they care about is money and ratings. Quality shows constantly get cancelled, while shlock like reality shows flourish. Too bad people with vision and deep pockets aren't in charge of the networks. The tv landscape would look a lot better than this.

Can't believe this!! Another amazing show just ending! Legacies has been a great show. Started also watching the other ones as well. What is wrong these days with TV networks!? Cancel good stuff but keep the others. Guess I'm done now. No need to keep watching them. They had a 13 year continuous relationship with viewers as well. Guess I will have to some how find another channel and show. Hope HBO or Netflix saves Legacies soon.

PLEASE BRING LEGACIES BACK!!! I am praying another network will pick it up. There is so much they can still do as far as storyline go. Bring in more cameos from The Originals, Bring in Freyas son Nick, bring on Stephanie Salvatore as a witch (a side effect of her parents both being ex vampires who took the cure or make another Supernatural being.

I think just because your up for sale doesn’t mean you have to clean house of shows. Whoever was in charge of positioning and schedule should be axed. Many of the shows concealed had horrible come back times- and time slots. Get clue!

Hope is eternal, although not always realized too. The only thing in reality is life and the hope that it brings all the thiings that it has hoped for and realized too.

whoa the cw is really cleaning house. That's more than half of their programming. Guess they just left the shows that people watch the most. Even then I don't see that channel lasting much longer sadly. I wonder if the CW has been sold and they'll announce it in the upfronts. It's weird that they basically cancelled everything except for their top 5 programs and Nancy Drew that has a large fanbase.

It hasn't been sold yet, but all these cancellations likely have to do with the impending sale. Anything renewed will be moved to HBO Max or Paramount Plus. Everything else is cancelled.

I honestly saw them canceling Batwoman and Legends of tomorrow. I enjoyed these shows but I know they wasn't going to last much longer. Batwoman didn't have The thrill Ride after the first season. A message of Tomorrow start getting kind of crazy and corny after like season 4. But I still continue to watch them tho. And canceling legacies definitely didn't have the same feeling like vampire diaries or the originals. So I kind of saw them canceling that show too. And I knew The 4400 wasn't going to get renewed and also had a feeling about Naomi too. But the other shows they talk about that cancel I don't even watch them.
